Tan Kin Lian - Perspectives Collection of rubbish
I suggest a new way to collect rubbish. 

The resident should put the rubbish into separate bags for waste and recyclable items and bring them to the large bins located on the ground floor of an apartment or at a designated part of the street. 

Although this may require the resident to walk a short distance to the large bins, it should not cause much inconvenience, as the resident need to dispose of the rubbish once every few days, and the resident has to take the lift or walk outside the house every day. It does require a change of habit. 

By using large bins, it is more likely that the waste and recyclable items will be properly separated. 

It will be easier for the rubbish to be collected by the collection trucks and reduce the manpower required. This will lead to lower cost of collection of rubbish. 

The use of rubbish bags ensure that there is no smell or dripping of water and generally lead to a more healthy environment.
