Security on a trading platform
1. A common approach in Singapore is to take precaution to an extreme, to a point where it becomes impractical and troublesome.

2. I will now illustrate an example. I have been trading stocks using a platform from Singapore. They will automatically close the connection after a preset interval, if there is no movement. This is to prevent an unauthorized party may view the screen and make a transaction.

3. I have to keep logging back into the account several times during a trading session. It was troublesome.

4. I recently opened a trading account with an international platform. They are licensed to operate in Singapore, but they do not follow the "Singapore practice".

5. The international platform does not close the connection after an interval. It keeps the connection active until the user logs out of it. I consider that this approach is safe, because my device (i.e. mobile phone or desktop computer) already has its timeout feature.

6. If I make a transaction, I have to enter the password again. This security is adequate.

7. I find the international platform convenient and practical. I will use it as my primary trading platform and will use the Singapore platform less often.
