Temasek investment in Nobel Group
1. Noble Group, a commodity trader, faced financial difficulties in 2015 due to declining commodity prices, high debt levels, and concerns over accounting practices. This led to a decline in its stock price and credit rating, and a series of asset sales to raise cash. The company eventually sought debt restructuring and in 2018, it announced a major debt-for-equity restructuring agreement.

2. Temasek, a Singaporean sovereign wealth fund, was invested in Noble Group. Temasek owned a significant stake in Noble Group at various points in time. However, it eventually reduced its stake in the company as it struggled with financial difficulties. The exact amount of Temasek's investment is not disclosed.

3. Before its restructuring, Noble Group reported significant losses over several years, primarily due to declining commodity prices and concerns over its accounting practices. In 2016, the company reported a net loss of $1.75 billion. In 2017, it reported a net loss of $2.06 billion. The losses continued to mount, leading the company to seek debt restructuring and eventually undertake a major debt-for-equity restructuring agreement.

4. Noble Group's shares are no longer listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX). The company underwent a debt restructuring and reorganization, and its shares were delisted from the SGX in 2018.
