Ministry of Transport Suggestions to the new Transport Minister
I have posted many feedback in this website to improve the transport system in Singapore. I also sent the feedback to the minister and his officers in his ministry. They do not reply to me.

We will soon have a new transport minister. 

I wish to summarize the key suggestions to improve the transport system:

a) Rationalise the bus services. We can reduce the number of services and improve the efficiency. We can reduce the waiting time and the transport fares. But the passengers need to make more transfers. They will get use to it.

b) Use the bus data to improve the scheduling and punctuality. Just by paying attention to the data on a daily basis, the drivers will do their part to improve the service. The discipline will improve - not only for the drivers, but the supervisors as well.

c) Improve the digital displays in the bus to show the sequential number and name of the next stop. It is easy and low cost. It will be very helpful.

d) Get rid of unnecessary fixtures that add to the cost of operation and do not serve much purpose. For example, there is no need for buses to collect cash. Provide dispensers for people to buy transit fare cards. 

This is a call to the new Transport Minister to invite me for a cup of coffee. I have experience taking the buses regularly. I also make good suggestions to improve service and reduce cost.
