Smart Nation SMS goes to scam folder
1. There was a flood of scams that use SMS messages to bring recipients to phishing websites.

2. To address the crisis, the authority introduces a system of getting businesses to register their phone numbers, so that the SMS messages are considered to be genuine.

3. The charges for registering the phone number are quite high. I recall that it was $500 initially and $100 annually. It is likely that many businesses avoided this additional cost.

4. This brought another problem. The genuine SMS sent out by the unregistered businesses are now marked as "Likely Scam". My phone sent them to the spam folder.

5. For some time, I did not receive the SMS OTPs that were reported to be sent to my phone. Later, I found that they went to the spam folder. This caused a lot of problems for me. I reported to the businesses, and it caused them to spend time to trace the problem.

6. The "Likely SCAM" SMS now appears in my inbox (and not the spam folder). I do not know how my phone works in handling these SMS.

7. It appears that many people are facing the same issue that I faced.

8. The Smart Nation office is handling this matter poorly.
